Curriculum

See the world beyond the classroom

Oasis knows the power of experiential learning, and of getting out into the larger world in which we live. Each year, our students will go beyond the walls and hallways of school, to explore and experience.

In 9th Grade:

Oasis students will participate in a four-day Oasis Explores New York City special program. Highlights include:
  • The history – and the food! – of the Lower East Side.
  • Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty: the promise and the challenge of immigration.
  • The U.N. – where representatives from the Israeli delegation will speak about Israel’s relations within the community of nations.
  • The National 9/11 Memorial: how do we, as Americans and as Jews, memorialize a national tragedy?
  • A Broadway musical.

In 10th Grade:

Oasis students will travel to Washington, D.C. for a four-day Oasis Visits our Nation’s Capital special program. Highlights include:
  • Political issues briefings and preparation for advocacy on Capitol Hill.
  • Meetings with Arizona’s elected officials to advocate on behalf of the Jewish community.
  • A reception in the Israeli Embassy, and a meeting with Israel’s diplomatic delegation.
  • A meeting with the U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism
  • Exploration of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums; and a nighttime tour of Washington’s monuments and memorials.
  • An experiential tour of the National Holocaust Memorial

In appreciation of our first pioneering class, these exceptional programs are fully funded through the generosity of Oasis’ supporters. No additional fees will be required for any aspect of the program, including travel.
