Soft Launch Press Release

Jerry Isaak-Shapiro Founding Head of School

Chaverim (friends),

This year Oasis will be providing exciting opportunities for our community’s 7th, 8th and 9th grade students to explore some of today’s most important topics – including antisemitism, Zionism, and Jewish identity, all from a teen’s perspective. We look forward to offering these programs to those attending Jewish Day Schools, independent schools and public schools.

Each of these discussion groups will be held on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, and will take place on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Thanks to our generous donors, all of these classes will be free of charge.

In addition to our Wednesday programs, we are hosting “Social Sundays” throughout the year, again for current 7th, 8th and 9th grade students.  We are kicking off our Social Sundays with a BBQ and pool party on August 28th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Ina Levine JCC.

Our goal this year is simple: to provide the students in the community with a safe space in which to think and ask questions about the challenging Jewish issues of the day.

While this note is highlighting a few of the topics we’ll be exploring, there are many more sessions that might be of interest. Please take a look at our scheduled classes.

We look forward to opening with our full High School curriculum in 2023-2024.

Wishing everyone a great beginning of this school year.
